Greg received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on September 16, 1980, while attending a revival meeting at Calvary Road Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. After joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1985, his relationship with The Lord really began to develop when a fellow marine challenged him to "walk his talk." After that, Greg began serving The Lord in various church ministries wherever he was stationed.
After marrying his high school sweetheart on August 3, 1991, Greg and his wife Krista served The Lord at Parham Road Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. In June of 1992, the couple moved to Northern Virginia, when Greg transferred his active duty status to the U.S. Army.
The Corcorans initially became members of Battlefield Baptist Church in July 1993. Four years later during a Missions Revival, Greg and his wife both surrendered their lives to full-time Christian service and immediately began moving towards fulfillment of that commitment. Over the next 9 years, they were trained and served in various leadership capacities within the church. In late 2006, after more than 21 years of collective service in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, Greg retired at the rank of Sergeant Major, ending his active duty military service; he was awarded The Legion of Merit for his exceptionally meritorious service to the nation at that time.
Heeding God's call, Greg immediately enrolled in Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, to begin his formal education. Soon afterwards, he began leading the College & Career Ministry at Park Crest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, Greg joined the full-time pastoral staff at Park Crest Baptist as the Associate Pastor. in July 2012, Greg was led by God to return to Battlefield Baptist Church as the Assistant Pastor. In November 2013, the congregation voted nearly unanimously to call Greg as the Senior Pastor of Battlefield Baptist Church.
Greg and his wife Krista have two boys, Colby and Casey. Colby is a 2016 graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Pastoral Leadership. He married his multi-talented wife, Taylor, in 2018 and now serves on staff at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri as their Worship Tech Director. Casey is a 2023 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He is currently teaching math at Kettle Run High School, his alma mater, and is the Assistant Coach of the girl's varsity basketball team. The Corcorans have also been blessed by God since 2008 with Lauren, the "daughter" they always wanted. She was 18 at the time, but now, she also resides in Springfield, Missouri and works for the Springfield Police Department.
